Dr. Rumman Chowdhury To Moderate a Panel Featuring Leading AI Experts at Hacking Algorithms Around Factuality, Bias, and Misdirection on July 9
All Tech Is Human is thrilled to announce Dr. Rumman Chowdhury (Co-Founder, Humane Intelligence) will moderate a panel featuring Chloe Burke (Meta) and Swapneel Mehta (Postdoctoral Associate, BU/MIT), and others soon to be announced at Hacking Algorithms Around Factuality, Bias, and Misdirection, on July 9, 2024, at Betaworks in New York City.
Hacking Algorithms Around Factuality, Bias, and Misdirection is a special gathering and hackathon inspired by Humane Intelligence’s recently launched "algorithmic bias bounty" programs, which will be unfolding over the coming year.
The first challenge involves creating a probability estimation model that determines whether the prompt provided to a language model will elicit an outcome that demonstrates factuality, bias, or misdirection, inspired by the data from the DEF CON Generative AI Red Teaming Challenge: Transparency Report. Participants of all skill levels are invited to enter and we have $10,000 of prizes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Attendance is free but space is limited. Reserve your spot now!

Responsible Tech Career Journey: Sarah Welsh, PhD
Last week, Sarah Welsh, PhD (Program Director, All Tech Is Human) published a special feature detailing her career journey in responsible tech.
After Welsh graduated with a Master’s degree from The Graduate Center, CUNY, she began to think about the impacts of technology.
”I started to wonder about the lasting implications of technology. What does it mean to be a responsible technology user? At the time–it was about 2013–I didn’t even realize this was a field I could work in. How could technology really serve people best?”
Welsh shares her journey and provides actionable recommendations for anyone interested in working in responsible technology.
