👋Hey there. We’re glad you’re back for our latest newsletter for All Tech Is Human, an organization that is creating a systemic change approach to tackling thorny tech & society issues.
We’ve learned a lot by being at the forefront of the Responsible Tech movement, and one observation is crystal clear: siloed sub-communities and scattershot initiatives are not effective. All Tech Is Human has always been an odd duck by taking a whole-of-ecosystem approach with a broad range of activities focused on community-building, education, and careers, but we strongly believe it is the superior method for moving the needle of progress. And our ability to straddle across grassroots and elite spaces means that we understand pain points while also being attached to levers of influence.
📰In today’s newsletter, you’ll read about our upcoming livestream with Vilas Dhar (President of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation) about AI literacy, along with a livestream coinciding with the release of our upcoming Responsible AI Impact Report. We also have a casual in-person Responsible Tech Mixer happening in NYC, and we are announcing exciting expansion plans for our next Responsible Tech Summit.
Today, we’re also putting out a survey on the hopes and fears related to AI chatbots and companions for an ATIH Insights report arriving in January. We’d love for you to spend 10-15 minutes providing helpful insight we’ll share with the broader community. We’re also continuing to gain valuable feedback about our new series of five short Responsible AI courses, so we have started to add facilitator guides for community learning.

Here at All Tech Is Human, we naturally view thorny tech & society issues through an interdisciplinary lens that requires broad public understanding and multistakeholder collaboration. The topics related to AI chatbots and companions, for example, are not merely technical. They intersect with ethics, law, psychology, sociology, design, human agency, and more. There is no easy fix; you have to unravel a Gordian Knot.
In January, we will be releasing a rapid response brief on AI chatbots and companions, building on some of our earlier observations (see below) and insight gleaned from this survey. We will also be assembling a group of expert reviewers; if that is of interest, let us know here.

We’re creating the premier global gathering for bridge-builders and decision-makers in Responsible Tech
All Tech Is Human, and our founder, David Ryan Polgar, is widely credited with starting the current Responsible Tech movement. So, where do we go from here? The power of All Tech Is Human is in our extensive cross-sector network and the trust we have amongst stakeholders; in 2026, we will be leveraging this power to create the systemic change that is needed.
Our Responsible Tech Summit on October 29, 2026, at The Times Center, will be a marquee gathering of 375 leaders from civil society, government, industry, and academia in NYC. It will help solve a vexing issue we encounter frequently: those in positions of power to influence systems are typically removed from the individuals feeling the impact and those offering novel solutions. All Tech Is Human has always tried to bridge this gap.

✍️Two upcoming livestreams for you to join:
On November 20th, we’re speaking with Vilas Dhar (President of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation) about AI literacy for social impact. We’ll highlight PJMF’s extensive efforts supporting Responsible AI literacy, PJMF’s resources, and discuss the importance of non-profit leaders increasing our AI literacy to understand how to responsibly adopt AI to amplify our impact.
📆In our next newsletter (December 3), we will be releasing a Responsible AI Impact Report. This report is designed to be used by Responsible AI practitioners, providing an understanding of the shifting landscape, helpful curated toolkits and resources, and an outlook for Responsible AI in 2026.
ATIH’s Rebekah Tweed will be moderating a conversation with a few special guests to talk about our latest report and where Responsible AI is headed.

The Responsible Tech movement draws a broad range of backgrounds, which is entirely what is needed to tackle complex issues! So whether you are a designer, artist, attorney, professor, psychologist, Responsible AI practitioner, journalist, academic, student, or startup founder, our Responsible Tech Mixers are a valuable space to build community, share ideas, and find sparks of collaboration.
🌎While we are based in NYC, we also host gatherings in London, SF, DC, and are exploring additional cities. In addition, we have an ATIHx program for independently organized gatherings that leverage our Slack community of over 13k members across 114 countries. Over on our Slack, which anyone can join, you’ll find location-specific channels alongside discussions of research, events, jobs, and the latest happenings in Responsible Tech.
