This event is being moderated by Yael Eisenstat (Researcher-in-Residence at Betalab), and features Nicole Chi (civic technologist and product manager, part of Mozilla’s Fix-The-Internet incubator), Rana Sarkar (Consul General of Canada in San Francisco & Silicon Valley), and All Tech Is Human’s David Ryan Polgar.

Moderated by David Ryan Polgar from All Tech Is Human, the discussion included Dr. Safiya Umoja Noble (Algorithms of Oppression) and Dr. Dipayan Ghosh (Terms of Disservice). Watch below! This 90-minute conversation is ideal for use in college classrooms/online learning, and was supported by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program, which has the “ultimate goal is to instill a high standard of ethics in our young people.”
🤯In our last email we announced our new Responsible Tech Mentorship mentorship Program. Over 220 people have already joined!
Since our founding in 2018, we have strategically built a diverse community that cuts across civil society, government, and industry while attracting both people who are leaders in the Responsible Tech movement (check out 250+ previous speakers) and also the broad range of people looking to build a career in the nascent space. We are starting to pull these pieces together to connect mentors with those looking for mentorship. As the connective tissue for the various parts of the Responsible Tech movement, we are aiming to provide greater guidance, pathways, and opportunities to bring NEW VOICES into the ecosystem.
This goes directly to our mission, which is to build the Responsible Tech pipeline by making it more diverse, multidisciplinary, and aligned with the public interest.

One area we are working on here at All Tech Is Human is helping the vast amount of college students, grad students, young professionals, and career-changers that are looking to get their foot in the door for Responsible Tech careers. In the coming weeks, we will be showcasing more entry-level job positions and fellowships to compliment the more than 100 jobs we currently have on the Responsible Tech Job Board. 👏Coded Bias is coming to Netflix on Monday!
We had the pleasure of discussing Coded Bias with director Shalini Kantayya, Timnit Gebru and Meredith Broussard (author of Artificial Unintelligence) in a recent livestream. This films brings forth many of the key voices working toward a better tech future. These are also voices that inspire the next generation of responsible technologists and changemakers.
