🥳A capacity crowd of 200 people came together for our Responsible Tech Mixer in NYC
While it can sometimes feel like you are the only one who deeply cares about the social impacts of technology, there are tens of thousands of individuals deeply committed to the Responsible Tech movement. Last Thursday in NYC, a packed house of 200 individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds came together to share knowledge, learn from each other, and spark moments of collaboration.
This was our 15th in-person gathering of 2024, held across NYC, SF, DC, and London.
🤔Where should we have official All Tech Is Human gatherings in 2025? Reach out to us with your suggestions!
Our Responsible Tech Mixer + Author Series was proud to feature a fireside chat between Greg Epstein (Author, Tech Agnostic: How Technology Became the World's Most Powerful Religion, and Why It Desperately Needs a Reformation) and Julia Angwin (CEO & Founder, Proof News, New York Times Contributing Opinion Writer) for a fireside chat to discuss the ways the beliefs, practices, and values of Big Tech companies and leaders can mirror those of religions. Greg explores longtermism, tech addiction, surveillance, and, ultimately, why he believes an agnostic approach to technology is the best way forward.
📖While reading Tech Agnostic, you will notice that All Tech Is Human is the focus of an entire chapter of the book—highlighting our unique convening power.

Topics will range from foreign influence tactics and the lessons the U.S. can draw from other democracies, to the role of technology in amplifying disinformation and potential risks in its misuse by adversarial actors.
📜RELATED ARTICLE: Alexis Crews, moderator for Thursday’s livestream, recently wrote a thought-provoking piece, Why We Should Stop Blaming Technology for the Erosion of Democracy. In an era where technology often takes the blame for democratic challenges, it's essential to dig deeper. Alexis explores why misinformation and tech platforms aren't the sole culprits behind the erosion of democracy in her latest piece. She highlights the complex interplay of entrenched political dynamics, the psychological nuances of misinformation, and the urgent need for robust regulatory frameworks.
Alexis discusses actionable steps for tech companies, policymakers, and non-partisan stakeholders to strengthen election integrity and protect our democratic values.
