📺We recently discussed learnings from our Improving Social Media report. You can watch a video of our panel discussion with four people from the report!

Betaworks Studios / Betalab recently hosted an event called Building a Better Social Media Future, which prominently featured learnings from our recent report, Improving Social Media: The People, Organizations and Ideas for a Better Tech Future. This discussion was moderated by noted democracy advocate and researcher-in-residence at Betalab’s Yael Eisenstat (featured in the report), along with Nicole Chi (co-founder of the Mobius Project), All Tech Is Human founder David Ryan Polgar, and Rana Sarkar (Consul General to Northern California & Silicon Valley) from the report. You can watch the recording here (bottom right-hand video); the discussion also made its way into the new podcast by the Tech Policy Press!

👩‍💻If you are looking to build a career in Responsible Tech, we’re here to help.

We have been quite busy lately here at All Tech Is Human, so we wanted to provide a quick round-up of some updates around building your career in Responsible Tech. We recently launched a Responsible Tech Mentorship Program that is gathering mentees and mentors, launched a Responsible Tech Job Board, put together a section on How to Build a Career in Responsible Tech, and have been growing our Slack group where a diverse range of members gather to discuss events, topics of interest, careers, reading group (next book, Weapons of Math Destruction), and more. We also recently announced that we are collaborating with NYU, which is running a public interest technology career fair and convention in the Fall that will be both physical and virtual.

🤔Why do we care so much about building the Responsible Tech pipeline?

We believe that we can build a better tech future by changing the types of people involved in it. Our aim is to grow the Responsible Tech pipeline by making it more diverse, multidisciplinary, and aligned with the public interest. By diversifying the individuals involved in the development and deployment of technology, we can create a future we want. If this resonates with you, get involved.
