🙏With Thanksgiving in the rearview and the holiday season beginning, we are in a thankful mood: thank you to everyone who has helped All Tech Is Human with our mission to build the world’s largest multistakeholder, multidisciplinary network in Responsible Tech. This allows us to tackle thorny tech & society issues through collective understanding, involvement, and action. Our work and impact is made possible through the participation of tens of thousands of people across the globe, so thank you.

Check out some of the highlights from 2024 and where our organization is headed
All Tech Is Human has taken a whole-of-ecosystem approach with our work, which means that we are designed to learn from the ecosystem, involve a broad range of individuals across the ecosystem, and influence the direction of the Responsible Tech ecosystem at large.
We’re done a lot so far in 2024! Some of the highlights you will see in our Year in Review include:
Holding 15 in-person gatherings in NYC, DC, SF, and London on topics such as Responsible AI, the future of Trust & Safety, and ensuring a safe online experience for youth. (Watch videos from the gatherings here.)
In 2024, we will have held 43 (!!) livestreams bringing in a wide range of voices across civil society, government, industry, and academia.
Growing our Slack community (apply | sign in) to over 11k members across 105 countries. This is how people “find the others.”
Releasing the fifth edition of our Responsible Tech Guide, which has had over 1.6k downloads since its release in mid-September.
Partnered with Thorn to create industry-leading standards to reduce AI-generated CSAM.

For our next livestream, Nicole Cuneo (University Network Project Lead with All Tech Is Human) will be in discussion with Angela Oduor Lungati, who was recently honored by Mozilla’s Rise25 in the change agent category. This conversation will explore the challenges and opportunities young changemakers face, practical steps to build impactful careers in tech, and ways to drive ethical innovation and inclusivity.
Angela is a technologist, community builder, and open-source software advocate passionate about building and using appropriate technology tools to impact the lives of marginalized groups. She is the Executive Director at Ushahidi, a global non-profit technology company that helps communities quickly collect and share information that enables them to raise voices, inform decisions and influence change.

The Obama Foundation has launched the search for the next cohort of its Obama Leaders USA: 25- 45-year-old values-driven changemakers ready to expand their impact and help strengthen democratic culture in the U.S.

The Obama Foundation Leaders USA program is a six-month, virtual leadership development program that seeks to inspire, empower, and connect values-driven changemakers from across the United States and U.S. territories. Renee DiResta (Author, Invisible Rulers: The People Who Turn Lies Into Reality), had this conversation with Alexis Crews (Senior Fellow, Information Integrity, All Tech Is Human) during a recent livestream.
👣 Deb Donig, All Tech Is Human’s Siegel Research Fellow, wrote a piece about The Pathway Forward for Responsible Tech. You can also find Deb speaking in the coming days as part of Metaverse Safety Week.
👏We’re continuing to celebrate Mozilla’s Rise25 honorees, showcasing some of the changemakers who are inspiring the next generation. In today’s newsletter we are featuring a profile interview with Aaron Gokaslan, a PhD student at Cornell Tech, focusing on data, systems, and applications for generative models.
🏞️All Tech Is Human partnered with the Data Science Institute and Institute of Global Politics at Columbia University on a panel featuring Eli Pariser (Co-Director, New_ Public) and Audrey Tang (Former Minister of Digital Affairs, Government of Taiwan) in conversation with Camille François (Associate Professor of Practice of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University) discussing the reshaping of social media for the public good.
